More Midlands space saves CO2 from London Datacentres
FRIDAY 4th APRIL 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UKS, a Midlands based company with 10 years IT infrastructure hosting experience, today announced a state of the art new Datacentre facility opening soon on their existing campus. “UKS North” is a purpose built 10,000 square foot building designed from the ground up to offer the highest levels of cutting-edge co-location services, with a focus on limiting environmental impact.
The new Tier 4 based facility is the highest specified, purpose built Datacentre outside London designed with 100% A/B (N+N) power and cooling power systems. Split into three suites it offers a combination of shared and dedicated areas. Single person man-traps, 24x7 security and an exclusive 1.8 acre site contribute towards a strong security ethos. It will be fully operational by June 23rd, 2008.
Cooling systems are the single largest power user in a datacentre. UKS North utilises “free air cooling” taking air from the atmosphere to reduce CO2 emissions from refrigeration, saving over 20% on the entire facility's footprint compared with a traditional datacentre. From on-site cardboard recycling to efficient lighting, the environment has been considered to ensure UKS and it's customers can fulfil their own corporate responsibility objectives.
The UKS site is supplied with a diverse, multi carrier communications infrastructure from a number of national telcos and UKS' own network for expert delivery of IP transit, MPLS, IP-VPNs and the popular LINX From Anywhere services.
